This foursome relocated from the Pacific Northwest in 2016 and immediately made a splash with their critically acclaimed 80s inspired synth-heavy sound. Tom's favorite Beijing scencester/college buddy Will Griffith of Live Beijing Music recently returned to NYC with a flash drive of his favorite Beijing releases of 2018. Tom scoured the flash drive and curated a playlist of some of his favorite finds. For the December 22nd edition of Look At My Records!, Tom welcomed Lenny Zenith to the program! The two had a blast chatting about Lenny's upbringing in the New Orleans music scene and his various projects over the year, including The Pop Combo, Jennifer Convertible, and RZA. The two also talked at length about Lenny's incredible debut solo album, "What If The Sun." Plus, Lenny had some great stories to tie in with his record selection, including how RZA once opened for XTC!
Keep your eye on Lenny in 2019, as he'll be playing more gigs and has plans to release his memoir "Before I Was Me." It promises to be a great read!

Look At My Records Live! is a freeform radio program that showcases an eclectic variety of music both old and new, with a strong emphasis on the local music scene. Host Tom Gallo conducts candid interviews with area bands and asks them to curate a playlist from his very own record collection. What typically results is an in depth conversation that unveils influences, past experiences, plenty of nostalgia, and even the occasional mutual fawning. You can also catch the occasional live in studio performance and hear special recorded performances from “The McKenzie Tapes” vault, which contains a plethora of live performance at various NYC venues over the course of the last 40 years.
